Recruitment Announcement for Volunteers for the 2024 Autumn Palace Cultural Festival

1. Festival Overview

• Festival Name: 2024 Autumn Palace Cultural Festival
• Festival Dates: Wednesday, October 9, 2024, to Sunday, October 13, 2024 (5 days)
• Festival Venues: Gyeongbokgung, Changgyeonggung, Deoksugung, and Changdeokgung Palaces
• Organizer: Royal Palaces and Tombs Division, Cultural Heritage Administration
• Managed by: National Heritage Promotion Agency

2. Eligibility

Requirements:

• Open to South Korean citizens aged 18 and over (including foreigners who can communicate in Korean)
• Participants from other regions are responsible for their own accommodation costs during the festival period.
• Must be able to attend key events and actively participate throughout the festival.
• Preference given to those proficient in foreign languages (English, Chinese, Japanese, etc.)

3. Recruitment Details

Number of Volunteers: Approximately 50 (including a minimum quota of 10 foreigners)

Volunteer Roles:

• On-site Operations Team (Offline): Assist with the on-site operations of the Palace Cultural Festival programs.
• Group Activities: Develop and manage games that engage and entertain visitors (e.g., Beat the Mascot, Palace Quiz, Photo Opportunities, etc.).

4. Recruitment Schedule

Announcement and Application Period: Friday, August 9, 2024, to Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 11:00 PM

Announcement of Document Screening Results: Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 5:00 PM

Video Submission (Virtual Interview): Thursday, September 5, 2024, to Sunday, September 8, 2024, at 11:00 PM

Final Results Announcement: Friday, September 13, 2024, at 5:00 PM

Activity Schedule:

• Orientation: Monday, September 23, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM (Korea Press Center, 20th Floor)
• Group Activity Planning: Wednesday, September 25, 2024, to Tuesday, October 8, 2024
• On-site Activities: Wednesday, October 9, 2024, to Sunday, October 13, 2024
• Completion of Activities

5. Application Process

Online Application: Submit the application form via Google Forms.

• Separate links provided for Korean and foreign applicants.

Required Documents:

• First Round (Document Screening): Submit the completed Google Form application.
• Second Round (Interview): Virtual video interview (detailed instructions will be sent to those who pass the first round).

6. Volunteer Benefits

• Volunteer Hours: Issued based on participation hours (registration with the 1365 Volunteer Portal is mandatory).
• Certificate of Completion: Issued by the National Heritage Promotion Agency for those who meet the completion criteria (at least 10 hours of volunteer service).
• Volunteer Supplies: Special items provided for festival volunteers.
• Free Admission: Complimentary entry to Gyeongbokgung, Changgyeonggung, Deoksugung, Changdeokgung Palaces, and Jongmyo Shrine during the festival period (for volunteers only).
• Transportation and Meals: Provided during offline activities.
• Awards for Outstanding Volunteers.
• Official Cooperation Letter: Issued to students requiring support for weekday activities.
