Kolon Group and the nonprofit organization JUMP are jointly organizing a program to support migrant-background youth, including children from multicultural families, North Korean defector families, undocumented migrant children, and newly arrived immigrant families. This program provides academic mentoring and cultural experience activities. We are now recruiting passionate university (graduate) students to serve as mentors for migrant-background youth. We invite your interest and participation in this meaningful opportunity.

▶ Program Overview

1. Program Name: Rainbow Stepping Stone Mentoring, 10th Term
2. Activity Period: March 2025 – December 2025 (10 months)
3. Activities

1. Academic Mentoring Activities with Migrant-Background Youth Mentees

• Matching: Up to 3:1 (youth to university students)
• Activity Hours: March - December 2025 (10 months) / 4 hours weekly (2 sessions of 2 hours each)
• Mentoring Content: Korean language, grade-level academic subjects, etc.

2. Support for Cultural Experience Activities

• Provide migrant-background youth with opportunities to deeply understand Korean society through diverse experiences
• Mentoring Content: Cultural/art activities, experiential learning about Korean culture, career exploration, etc.
• Activity Frequency: 7 sessions annually (included in the 4 weekly activity hours)
• Activity Fee Support

3. Vacation Program for Youth: July - August 2025 (during school vacation)
4. Career Mentoring for University Mentors with Kolon Employees: 2 sessions annually (scheduled for May and November)

▶ Recruitment Details

1. Eligibility: University (graduate) students from multicultural families, North Korean defector families, children of foreign families, undocumented migrant children, or overseas Koreans.

• University (graduate) students able to commit to 10 months of activities (students on leave may apply / students graduating during the activity period may not apply).

2. Number of Recruits: 20 participants
3. Benefits for Participants:

1. Scholarship Support (KRW 2 million annually)
2. Activity Fee Support (6,000 KRW/9,000 KRW/12,000 KRW per session based on youth-to-mentor ratio)
3. Support for Mentor Skill Enhancement Education
4. Vacation Program (Sports Day, visit to Kolon Group, etc.) Community Activities
5. Career and Job Mentoring with Kolon Employees
6. Recognition and Rewards for Outstanding Long-Term Mentors

4. Selection Schedule:

1. Application Submission: January 8 (Wed) – January 22 (Wed), 2025
2. Document Screening Results: January 31 (Fri), 2025
3. Interview Screening: February 7 (Fri), 2025
4. Final Results Announcement: February 12 (Wed), 2025
5. Pairing Ceremony and Pre-Training (Mandatory): February 26 (Wed) – February 27 (Thu), 2025 (*1-night, 2-day session)
