[UN SDSN] Recruitment for 24-2 SDG Facilitator (~8/11) 🌟

In 2012, former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon established the UN advisory body SDSN (Sustainable Development Solutions Network). We are now recruiting youth committee activists to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and carbon neutrality. 🌏

🌏 Target Applicants

• Youth with basic knowledge of sustainable development and climate crisis response or those wishing to acquire it.
• Foreign and domestic students under the age of 25 enrolled in universities (including graduate schools) in South Korea (Korean language proficiency required).
• South Korean nationals under the age of 25 enrolled in universities (including graduate schools) abroad (new students, current students, students on leave of absence, and international students are eligible / graduates, those on graduation hold, and graduates not eligible).
• Youth who can participate in the hybrid operating committee every Saturday from 14:00 to 20:00 (only the first week of 4, 6, 10, 12 months due to exam periods, the second to fourth weeks are off).
• Youth who can participate for at least three semesters.
• Age and academic status are based on the application deadline.

🌏 Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in English or other foreign languages (Japanese, German) is preferred.
• Skilled in Hancom/MS Office.
• Ability to use design and video editing tools.

🌏 Recruitment Fields

❇️ Academics Department (A Part):
Perform activities based on teams organized by the 5 Pillars of the SDGs, focusing on key SDGs designated by the UN HLPF:

1. Study reports published by UN/WEF/Statistics Korea.
2. Write policy proposals for youth policies for the government.
3. Attend forums hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs/UN ESCAP/G20 and participate in writing Communiques for each Working Group.
4. Participate in the Northeast Asia Sustainable Development Youth Council meetings and engage in academic exchanges with youth from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Mongolia, and Russia.

🌱 People Team:
SDG 3 Health and Well-being and social agendas (poverty, nutrition, education, gender equality, etc.).

🌱 Prosperity Team:
SDG 8 Economic Growth and Employment and economic agendas (energy, infrastructure, inequality, settlements, etc.).

🌱 Planet Team:
SDG 14 Marine Ecosystems and environmental agendas (water, production and consumption patterns, climate response, terrestrial ecosystems, etc.).

🌱 Peace & Partnership Team:
SDG 17 International Cooperation (finance, technology, capacity building, trade, policy coherence, multilateralism, accountability) and peace agendas.

❇️ Projects Department (O Part):
Perform activities to raise awareness and spread knowledge of SDGs/carbon neutrality in the community:

• 🌱 Assembly Team: Connect member organizations and government/IGO/NGO/corporate ESG practitioners by region/agenda and host general assemblies.
• 🌱 Archive Team: Conduct youth ecosystem research and write impact measurement reports for member organizations.
• 🌱 Challenge Team: Plan and operate the YouTube channel "SDGuys".
• 🌱 Living Lab Team: Plan and operate local problem-solving competitions in cooperation with local governments.

You will be assigned to one team each in A Part and O Part (additional activities possible if desired).

🌏 Activity Period

• Three semesters (four-month probationary period).

🌏 Selection Process

❇️ 1st Round: Document Screening

• Application Deadline: August 11 (Sunday), 23:59
• Results Announcement: August 12 (Monday), 18:00

❇️ 2nd Round: Group Interview (Zoom)

• Interview Date: August 18 (Sunday)
• Duration: 45 minutes between 10:00 and 18:00
• Results Announcement: August 18 (Monday), 21:00

❇️ 3rd Round: Group Interview (In-Person)

• Interview Date: August 24 (Saturday)
• Duration: 13:00 - 18:00 (total 5 hours)
• Interview Location: Korea University Seoul Campus (details to be announced)
• Final Results Announcement: August 24 (Saturday), 21:00

❇️ Orientation and Basic Training (Hybrid)

• August 31 (Saturday), 14:00 - 20:00 (total 6 hours)

Results for each stage will be individually notified via email.
Successful candidates will be officially registered as SDG Facilitators after passing the qualification exam following the four-month probationary period.
