환경과학을 배우면서 과학적 이론과 실제 응용을 결합시키기 위해 에너지자원공학과 부전공으로 하였고 친환경소재 분야에 관심을 가졌습니다. 포스코인터내셔널은 한국을 대표하는 상사로서 철강, 식량, 친환경소재, 비철 등을 광범위한 네트워크 기반으로 전 세계 시장을 향해 전문사업 역량을 구축하는 기업으로 알고 있습니다. 무엇보다 포스코인터내셔널에 지원하기로 결정적인 이유는 회사에서 우수인재를 중심으로 글로벌 역량개발 지원 제도 때문입니다. 제가 글로벌 역량개발 프로그램을 통해서 중국지역 전문가 되는 것이 제 목표입니다. 상사 업무는 굉장히 역동적이기에, 변화에 대해 빠르게 배울 수 있는 직무로 매력을 느꼈고 각 담당자들의 책임과 역할이 크기 때문에 제 자신의 성장과 회사의 성장을 동시에 이룰 수 잇는 매우 좋은 직무라고 생각합니다.
친환경소재 해외영업 직무에서 가장 필요한 역량은 충분한 시장 이해도와 우수한 커뮤니케이션 능력입니다. 이공계지만, 창업, 대웅제약에서 진행한 ‘화장품 중국진출 가이드’를 제작하며 시장을 배우기 위해서 노력하였습니다. 또한, 보다 정확한 의사 전달을 위해서 방학기간 동안 컨벤션 통역 아르바이트를 꾸준히하며 커뮤니케이션 스킬을 높이기 위해 노력하였습니다.

해외영업에 대한 꿈을 가지며, 서로의 다름에 대해 배우기 위해서 노력했습니다. 무역의 기회는 서로의 다름으로 시작되기 때문입니다. 중국에서는 사회, 문화, 정치를 중점으로 학습하며, 먼저 대외활동, 동아리 활동하면서 중국에 대해서 배우기 위해 노력했습니다. 이후, 평소 관심있던 시장인 한국 시장을 배우기 위해서 한국으로 유학을 결정했습니다. 유학 생활 중에도 끊임없이 서로 다른 점을 배우기 위해서 창업, 동아리 활동 등을 하면서 제가 느끼고, 배운 것을 직접 체험해보고자 노력하였습니다. 이후, 교내에서 미국 정치, 문화에 대해서 배울 수 있는 교내 해외파견 프로그램을 갈 수 있는 기회를 얻어, 중국 뿐만 아니라 미국 시장에 대해서도 배우고자 노력하였습니다.

대학시절 친구들과 함께 비대면 발열체크기 창업을 하였습니다. 그 당시, 코로나로 인해서 모든 공공기관 및 집합시설에서는 모든 방문객에게 직접 체온계를 이용하여 입장을 통제하였습니다. 그리하여, 친구들과 함께 인력이 필요하지 않은 무인 발열 체크기를 수입하기로 하였습니다. 그 당시 중국 내에서는 코로나가 한국보다 빨리 진행되어, 정부와 소비자들이 필요한 제품이 빠르게 출시되었습니다. 그리하여, 그 중 한국 시장에 가장 적합한 제품을 소싱하여 국내에 유통하였습니다. 무인 발열 체크기는 기존 사업주들의 어려움이었던 인력 비용과 시간 비용을 해결해줄 수 있었기에 단기간의 높은 매출을 올릴 수 있었습니다. 이 속에서 한국시장을 배우고 또한 한국 시장에서 바라는 중국에 대해 배울 수 있었습니다.
3. 입사후 포부에 대해 설명해주세요.
[항상 배움의 제세로 임하겠습니다]
환경과학을 배우면서 환경오염을 시키는 근원이나 경로가 무엇인지, 환경오염 및 정화의 메커니즘에 대해 공부하였습니다. 이에 멈추지 않고, 이론지식을 실제로 잘 적용할 수 있기 위해 에너지자원공학을 부전공으로 공부하였고 보다 더 종합적인 지식 체계를 가졌습니다. 하지만, 무역상사에 취업하기 위해서 경영학적 지식에 부족함을 느껴 교내에서 통계학과 경영학 수업을 들어서 기본적인 통계 지식과 경영지식을 배우기 위해 노력했습니다. 물론 앞으로의 회사 업무를 잘 수행하기 위해 제가 배운 것보다 더 많은 것을 배워야 하며 ‘배움의 끝이 없다’ 하듯이 항상 겸손한 자세로 있겠습니다.
[한국의 팀워크 문화를 배우기 위해 노력하였습니다.]
팀워크에 있어서 가장 중요한 것은 하나의 목표를 모두가 똑같이 이해하고 공유하는 것이 중요하다고 생각합니다. 대학교에 들어와서 학교 댄스 동아리와 에너지동아리 참여하면서 더욱 사람들과 많이 접촉할 수 있었고 건강한 인간관계를 유지하는 법을 배웠습니다. 그리고 지난 학기에 서울시청에서 하는 에너지환경 대외활동 ‘서울그린캠퍼스 대학생 홍보대사’에 참여하였습니다. 홍보영상 제작, 모의총회 발표, 캠페인 기획 등 여러 활동을 통해 나와 다른 사람들과 협력해 나가는 기술을 키웠습니다. 회사는 혼자서 하는 곳이 아니기 때문에 사람들과 잘 어울리며 서로 협동하는 일을 잘 할 수 있다고 생각합니다. 앞으로 더 많은 도전과 성장은 포스코인터내셔널과 함께 하고 싶습니다.

I have studied environmental science to combine scientific theory with practical applications, leading me to minor in energy resource engineering and develop an interest in eco-friendly materials. POSCO International, as a leading Korean trading company, has built specialized business capabilities across the global market in various sectors such as steel, food, eco-friendly materials, and non-ferrous metals. The decisive reason for applying to POSCO International is the company's support system for developing global competencies centered around talented individuals. My goal is to become an expert in the Chinese region through this global competency development program. The dynamic nature of trading company work is highly attractive as it offers rapid learning opportunities and significant responsibilities, aligning personal growth with the company's growth.
In the overseas sales role for eco-friendly materials, understanding the market thoroughly and possessing excellent communication skills are essential. Despite my engineering background, I have endeavored to learn about the market by starting a business and creating the 'China Entry Guide for Cosmetics' at Daewoong Pharmaceutical. To ensure accurate communication, I also consistently worked part-time as a convention interpreter during vacations to enhance my communication skills.
[Becoming a Global Talent Utilizing Chinese, Korean, and English]
With a dream of working in international sales, I have strived to learn about the differences between countries. Opportunities in trade arise from these differences. In China, I focused on social, cultural, and political studies while participating in various external and club activities to understand the country better. To learn about the Korean market, which always intrigued me, I decided to study in Korea. During my studies, I continuously sought to understand differences by starting a business and participating in club activities. Later, I had the chance to participate in an overseas exchange program to learn about American politics and culture, further broadening my understanding of different markets.
[Opportunities Born from Differences: Entrepreneurship]
In college, I started a business with friends, importing non-contact temperature checkers during the COVID-19 pandemic. At that time, all public facilities and gathering places used manual thermometers to control entry, so we decided to import unmanned temperature checkers. In China, where COVID-19 progressed earlier than in Korea, the government and consumers quickly released necessary products. We sourced the most suitable products for the Korean market and distributed them domestically. These unmanned temperature checkers solved labor and time cost issues for business owners, resulting in high sales in a short period. Through this, I learned about the Korean market and what it expects from China.
[Approaching with a Learning Attitude]
While studying environmental science, I learned about the sources and pathways of pollution and the mechanisms of pollution and remediation. To apply theoretical knowledge practically, I minored in energy resource engineering, gaining a comprehensive knowledge system. Realizing the need for management knowledge to work in a trading company, I took statistics and management courses to learn basic statistics and management principles. To excel in future company tasks, I need to learn much more than I have already, and I will always maintain a humble attitude, understanding that 'learning never ends.'
[Learning Korean Teamwork Culture]
In teamwork, it is crucial that everyone understands and shares a common goal. Joining university dance and energy clubs allowed me to interact with many people and learn how to maintain healthy relationships. Last semester, I participated in the 'Seoul Green Campus University Student Ambassadors' program, where I developed promotional videos, presented at mock conferences, and planned campaigns, enhancing my collaboration skills. Since a company is not a place for solitary work, I believe I can work well with others and cooperate effectively. I look forward to many more challenges and growth opportunities with POSCO International.
