1. 현대자동차 외국인 유학생 인턴십에 지원하게 된 이유와 함께, 이번 인턴십을 통해 배우고 싶은 점을 설명해 주시기 바랍니다.
현대자동차는 글로벌 시장에서 2년 연속 세계 3위의 판매량을 기록하며 선도적인 위치를 차지하고 있습니다. 자동차를 넘어 로봇, 스마트 모빌리티, 그리고 AAM의 등장으로 인해 모빌리티 산업에 대한 관심이 커졌습니다. 한국에 오기 전, 한국 자동차, 특히 현대자동차를 단순히 차량 제조사로만 생각했으나, 현대의 로봇 관련 기사를 접하며 저의 편견이 깨졌습니다. 그 후 꾸준히 기사를 스크랩하며 이 산업에 대해 배우고자 노력했습니다. 이러한 혁신과 기술 발전은 더 나은 환경을 구축하기 위한 길이며, 이 과정에서 가장 중요한 부분이 기획 및 국내외 사업이라고 생각합니다. 대학 시절 동안 A 대외활동과 B 교내활동에서 기획 및 홍보 업무를 경험한 바 있습니다. 이러한 경험을 바탕으로 이번 현대자동차 인턴십을 통해 자동차 산업과 미래 모빌리티 산업에 대한 지식을 더욱 깊이 배우고 싶습니다.
현대자동차는 '글로벌'한 환경과 문화적 다양성을 존중하며, 2021년에도 ASEAN 국가를 중심으로 외국인 인턴을 선정한 바 있습니다. 현재도 다양한 인재를 확보하려는 노력이 지속되고 있는 것으로 알고 있습니다. 저는 한국에서 유학하며 아르바이트, 동아리, 봉사활동 등을 통해 한국인뿐만 아니라 다양한 문화와 인종을 가진 사람들을 이해할 수 있었습니다. 이번 인턴십을 통해서도 다양한 배경을 가진 사람들과 협력하고, 다양한 시장에 대한 이해도를 높이며 함께 성장할 기회를 갖고 싶습니다.
또한, 외국인으로서 활동하며 새로운 접근 방식을 제시할 수 있는 장점을 가지고 있으며, 이는 기획과 개발 과정에서 혁신을 이끌어낼 수 있는 요소가 될 수 있다고 생각합니다. 따라서, 한국 회사, 특히 현대자동차 내에서 창의성을 기획으로 실행하고 이끌어내는 방법을 배우고 싶습니다.

[성실함과 팀워크를 배웠습니다.]
저는 2학년 때 A 대학 ‘B’에서 학교 축제 기획 및 홍보를 담당했습니다. 이를 통해 크게 두 가지를 배웠습니다. 첫 번째로 배우려는 자세입니다. 사업 기획 단계에서 한국인 팀원들과 소통에 적극적 참여하였습니다. 회의 준비기간동안 외국인 유학생이 아닌, 한 명의 팀원으로서 제가 기여할 수 있는 외국인 유학생 마케팅 및 컨텐츠 제작에 참여하였습니다. 이 과정에서 기획 단계에서 사용하는 용어를 꾸준히 학습하였습니다. 그 결과, 축제 홍보를 성공적으로 개최하며 동시에 한국어, 팀 워크 역량을 기를 수 있었습니다. 두 번째로 현 상황을 분석하여 목표 대상에게 마케팅 메시지를 전달하는 방법을 배웠습니다. 당시 코로나19로 인해 축제가 오프라인으로 활발하지 못한 상황에서 온라인으로 세미나 및 공연을 송출하고, 온라인 뉴스 카드를 만들어 홍보했습니다. 온라인으로 다양한 게임과 굿즈를 직접 기획하고 성공적으로 실행한 경험은 위기를 기회로 만드는 좋은 배움이 되었습니다.
｢팀리더로서 리더십 및 책임감을 배웠습니다｣
A 대외활동에서 문화기획 및 문화 홍보대사로 활동했을 때 리더십의 역량을 기를 수 있었습니다. A 활동은 [활동 내용] 으로 팀 리더를 맡게 되었습니다. 팀 리더로서 팀원들 사이에 일정 조율 및 사전 미팅을 통해 한 달 동안 가장 출석률이 높은 팀으로 뽑혔습니다. 높은 출석률을 기반으로 서로 다른 배경을 가진 팀원들과 함께 완성도 높은 프로젝트를 완성했습니다. 결과적으로 우리가 처음부터 기획했던 A 프로젝트를 통해 B라는 목표를 달성할 수 있었고, 리더로서 A상을 받는 성과까지 얻었습니다.
3. 한국 유학 생활 (학위 취득) 이후 커리어 계획, 또는 희망하는 커리어 패스에 대해 설명해 주시기 바랍니다.
[가치 있는 일이 미래를 이끈다]
저는 '누군가에게 도움이 되고 가치 있는 일을 하자'는가치관을 가지고 있습니다. 처음 입학할 때는 A과를 졸업해A들에게 한국어를 가르침으로써 유학의 길을 열어주고 새로운 기회에 한 걸음 더 가까워질 수 있도록 돕고자했습니다. 이러한 가치 있는 일에 대한 제 관념은 변하지 않았지만, 수단이달라졌습니다. 대학교 때 A과 B를 하며 다양한 친구를 사귀면서 기획부에서 일하고 싶은 제 모습을 발견하게 되었습니다. 특히 자동차 산업에 대한 관심이 커지면서 더욱 달라졌습니다. 이번 8월에 졸업한 후, 저는 한국에서 취직하고 특히현대자동차에서 꼭 일하고 싶다는 강한 열망을 가지게 되었습니다. 이는 저의 가치관과 현대자동차의 비전인 '인류애를 위한 옳은 일, 즉 가치 있는 일을 한다'는 점에서 일치하기 때문입니다. 개인과 회사, 나아가 국가와 사회, 인류애를 위한 가치 있는 일을 하는 것이 제목표입니다.
그 목표에 도달하기 위해 첫째, 고객들의 니즈와 시장 동향을 분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 혁신적인 제품 및 서비스를 기획하고 개발하는 일에 전념하고자 합니다. 이를 통해 고객들에게 새로운 가치를 제공하고, 회사의 경쟁력을 높이는데 기여하고 싶습니다.
둘째, 세계 시장에서의 경쟁력을 강화하기 위해 다양한 프로젝트와 팀에서 활동하고 싶습니다. 다양한 문화와 언어를 경험하며, 글로벌 시장에서의 경쟁력을 높이는데 기여하고자 합니다. 이를 통해 현대자동차의 글로벌 비전을 실현하며 저 역시 기획 전문가로 성장하고싶습니다.
셋째, 한국과 B간의 경제 및 문화적 교류를 현대자동차를통해 촉진하고, 더 나아가 국제 경제에 기여하고자 합니다. B 시장은자동차가 필수적인 시장으로, 차량 보급률이 높아지고 있습니다. 현대자동차의좋은 이미지를 구축하고 판매량을 높여 고객의 다양한 요구를 충족시키며, 현대자동차와 함께 B 시장에서의 성공적인 진출과 발전을 이루어나가고 싶습니다.

Hyundai Motor has held a leading position in the global market, ranking third in global sales for two consecutive years. With the rise of robotics, smart mobility, and AAM (Advanced Air Mobility), interest in the mobility industry has significantly increased. Before coming to Korea, I thought of Hyundai Motor merely as a car manufacturer, but my perspective changed after reading articles about Hyundai's involvement in robotics. Since then, I have diligently collected articles and strived to learn about this industry. I believe that such innovation and technological advancement pave the way for a better environment, with planning and both domestic and international business being the most crucial aspects of this process.
During my university years, I gained experience in planning and promoting activities through participation in external activity A and on-campus activity B. Based on this experience, I am eager to deepen my knowledge of the automotive industry and future mobility through this internship at Hyundai Motor. Hyundai Motor respects a 'global' environment and cultural diversity and selected foreign interns focusing on ASEAN countries in 2021. I understand that efforts to secure diverse talent are ongoing. Studying in Korea, I have interacted with people from various cultures and backgrounds through part-time jobs, clubs, and volunteer activities. Through this internship, I hope to collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds, enhance my understanding of different markets, and grow together.
Moreover, as a foreigner, I can offer new approaches, which can drive innovation in planning and development processes. Therefore, I want to learn how to implement and lead creativity through planning within a Korean company, particularly Hyundai Motor.
[Learning Diligence and Teamwork]In my second year, I was in charge of planning and promoting the school festival at university A’s 'B.' From this experience, I learned two main things. The first is the attitude of learning. I actively participated in communication with Korean team members during the business planning stage. I engaged in marketing for international students and content creation, contributing as a team member rather than just an international student. Through this process, I continuously learned the terminology used in the planning stages. As a result, I successfully promoted the festival and improved my Korean and teamwork skills. The second thing I learned is how to analyze the current situation and deliver marketing messages to the target audience. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival couldn’t be held offline, so we broadcasted seminars and performances online and promoted them using online news cards. The experience of planning and successfully executing various online games and goods became a valuable lesson in turning a crisis into an opportunity.
[Learning Leadership and Responsibility as a Team Leader]I developed my leadership skills while serving as a cultural planning and promotion ambassador for external activity A. During this activity, I took on the role of team leader. As a team leader, I coordinated schedules and held pre-meetings, leading our team to have the highest attendance rate for a month. Based on this high attendance rate, we completed a high-quality project with team members from diverse backgrounds. As a result, we achieved our initial goal of project A, and I received an award for leadership and excellence.
[Valuable Work Leads the Future]I believe in 'doing work that helps others and is valuable.' When I first enrolled, I aimed to graduate from department A and teach Korean to A students, opening up opportunities for them to study abroad and take a step closer to new opportunities. While my concept of valuable work hasn't changed, the means have. During university, through doing A and B, I discovered my desire to work in the planning department, especially as my interest in the automotive industry grew. After graduating this August, I have a strong desire to work at Hyundai Motor in Korea. This aligns with my values and Hyundai Motor’s vision of 'doing the right thing for humanity,' which is about doing valuable work. My goal is to do work that is valuable to individuals, the company, the country, society, and humanity.
To achieve this goal, first, I want to dedicate myself to analyzing customer needs and market trends and using this to plan and develop innovative products and services. This way, I can provide new value to customers and contribute to the company’s competitiveness.
Secondly, I want to participate in various projects and teams to enhance global competitiveness. By experiencing different cultures and languages, I aim to contribute to Hyundai Motor’s global vision and grow as a planning expert.
Thirdly, I want to promote economic and cultural exchange between Korea and B through Hyundai Motor, contributing to the international economy. The B market is essential for the automotive industry, with increasing vehicle penetration. I aim to build a good image for Hyundai Motor, increase sales, meet diverse customer needs, and achieve successful entry and development in the B market alongside Hyundai Motor.
