Seoul Special City Seongdong Foreign Workers' Center Announcement No. 2024-01
The Seongdong Foreign Workers' Center in Seoul is hosting a contest for foreign residents to promote the charm of Seoul and create a platform for citizen communication. We invite interested participants to join this contest.
Contest Name: 2024 Foreigner Residents SNS Content Contest
Announcement Period: June 10, 2024 (Mon) - July 15, 2024 (Mon)
Submission Period: July 1, 2024 (Mon) - July 15, 2024 (Mon)
Eligibility: Foreign residents aged 19 or older living in Seoul (including naturalized citizens, multicultural families, and international students)
Contest Theme: How Foreign Residents Use Seoul – 'Living in Seoul'
- Showcasing the charm of Seoul, daily life in Seoul, etc.
- Individuals or teams, no limit on the number of entries per person/team (duplicate awards not allowed)
Contest Category: Video
Submission Requirements:
- Video length: up to 90 seconds, file size: up to 300MB
- Resolution: 1,080×1,920 pixels or higher, file format: mp4, avi
- Audio insertion allowed
- Compliance with copyright laws for all music, images, and videos used in the entry
- Videos must be filmed in landscape mode if using a mobile phone (portrait mode videos will not be selected)

Judging and Results Announcement:
- Judging criteria: Relevance, artistry, originality, usability, popularity
- Judging process: 1st preliminary screening (eligibility review), 2nd final screening (evaluation by judges)
- Results announcement: August 1, 2024 (Thu) (posted on the Seoul Foreigner Portal and Seongdong Foreign Workers' Center website, and notified individually)
Awards:
- Award ceremony: To be announced later
- Prizes and certificates:
- Grand Prize (1 winner): 500,000 KRW
- Excellence Award (2 winners): 200,000 KRW each
- Merit Award (3 winners): 100,000 KRW each
- Encouragement Award (6 winners): 50,000 KRW each
- The number of winners and prize amounts may be adjusted based on the judging results
- If unable to receive the cash prize due to personal reasons or legal restrictions, Onnuri gift certificates may be provided instead
- Winners are responsible for 22% tax on the prize
Important Notes:
- Entries must be original creations by the applicant
- Entries that do not meet the specifications will be disqualified or receive a penalty
- Entries previously submitted to other contests are not eligible
- Entries that violate copyright, infringe on portrait rights, defame others, distribute illegal information, or plagiarize will result in disqualification and prize withdrawal, and the applicant will be responsible for any legal issues
- Use only copyright-free music in videos and clearly state the music title and source at the end of the video
- Judging scores and evaluations are confidential and cannot be disputed
- Submitted documents and materials will not be returned
- The copyright of the winning entries will belong to the Seongdong Foreign Workers' Center and may be used for promotional purposes by the organizers (with modifications if necessary)
- The organizers may choose not to select a winner and may adjust the award details
- The contest schedule and details are subject to change based on the circumstances of the Seongdong Foreign Workers' Center
