많은 기업들이 우리 버디들에게 한국 유학을 결심하게 된 계기를 물어봐요! 이 질문을 통해서 무엇을 알고 싶은 것일까요? 우리 버디들의 커리어 목표에 대해서 알고 싶은 것입니다.

당연히 유학을 결정하는 당시에는 특별한 목표가 없는 경우가 많습니다. 하지만, 자기소개서와 면접에서는 자신의 커리어 목표를 밝혀주는 게 중요합니다.

잘못 작성하는 예

가족 관계만 예시로 드는 것: 가족의 사업으로 인한 한국 유학 결정은 버디의 선택이 아니기에, 가족 사업을 통해 버디가 무엇을 느끼고, 왜 유학을 결정했는지 정확히 밝혀주세요.
한국 문화에 대해서만 이야기하는 것: 기업은 한국 문화 관련된 공공기관이 아니기에 한국 문화에 대한 애정과 커리어 목표를 함께 이야기해주세요.

어떻게 작성해야 할까요?

STEP 1: 한국에 대해서 처음 알게 된 계기를 말씀해주세요. 지원하는 회사의 산업을 기준으로 작성해주는 것이 좋습니다.

예: 컨텐츠 분야 회사에 지원한 경우: 드라마, 음악, 웹툰 등

How to Write About Your Motivation for Studying Abroad in Korea

Many companies ask our buddies about their motivation for deciding to study abroad in Korea. What do they want to know through this question? They want to understand our buddies' career goals.

It's common not to have a specific goal when deciding to study abroad. However, it's important to reveal your career goals in your self-introduction and interview.

Examples of Poor Responses

Only citing family relations: Deciding to study abroad in Korea due to a family business is not your own choice, so please clearly explain what you felt through the family business and why you decided to study abroad.
Talking only about Korean culture: Companies are not public institutions related to Korean culture, so please discuss both your affection for Korean culture and your career goals.

How should you write it?

STEP 1: Explain how you first came to know about Korea. It's best to write based on the industry of the company you are applying to.

- Example: For content-related companies: dramas, music, webtoons, etc.

- Example: For food-related companies: K-Food, bibimbap, snacks, etc.

For STEM fields:

- Example: For manufacturing companies: technology trends, industry trends, etc.

- Example: For IT companies: technology trends, games, and cultural content, etc.

- Example: For research fields: research trends, R&D international cooperation, etc.

STEP 2: Introduce the emotions or impressive parts you felt.

STEP 3: Describe your dreams and career plans.

STEP 4: Conclude by stating that you decided to study abroad in Korea to achieve your career goals.

Examples

Example 1: Food Company

Since high school, I have been interested in Korea through its cultural content. In particular, I was impressed by the fact that K-Food is expanding rapidly worldwide by combining the safety and nutritional balance of food with the local food culture of various countries. Therefore, I decided to study abroad in Korea to directly experience and learn about the competitiveness and localization strategies of Korea's food industry and cultural content.

Example 2: Content-related Company

Since high school, I have been interested in Korea through its cultural content. Especially, I was impressed by how Korean content successfully delivers brand messages through localized marketing strategies, overcoming language barriers. Watching the rapid growth of Korean content, I also became attracted to the career of a content localization expert. Therefore, I decided to study abroad in Korea to directly experience and learn about the competitiveness and localization strategies of Korean cultural content.

Example 1: Research Field

Since childhood, I have been very interested in the OO field and have tried to consistently learn about related news and development trends. In particular, I was very interested in the research and development of OO technology in Korea, and I was impressed by the fact that I could gain both professional knowledge and practical experience through industry-academia cooperation projects. Therefore, I decided to study abroad in Korea to achieve my dream of becoming a technology expert in the OO field.

Example 2: Manufacturing

Watching Korean manufacturing companies expand to other countries and grow together with local communities gave me a deep interest and affection for Korea. I also aim to grow into a talent who can achieve sustainable growth with the local community with a sense of social responsibility. Therefore, I decided to study abroad in Korea to directly experience and learn how Korea's manufacturing industry and companies cooperate with local communities and develop, and to achieve my career goals based on this experience.
